Do you have a burning desire to start your own business?
Applications are now being accepted for 100 places in the Entrepreneur Island Challenge, an international drive to help spark entrepreneurialism among people across the globe.
The Entrepreneur Island Challenge is an international online event running from August 2006, where 100 entrepreneural barons will compete to sell the most online advertising alongside their idea and possibly even their own products on entrepreneurisland.com.
Each baron that meets his or her goal will generate at least $10,000 in seed money to start their own business, and have a further chance to uncover two treasures, one of $2,500 once the 100th entrepreneur joins and if the targets are met, one of $5,000 when the public votes for their top idea.
This 100-day Challenge is expected to leverage over $2,000,000 in seed capital for the 100 entrepreneurs to start business, inspire public
interest through a public treasure hunt and attract outside investment.
Barons who sign up for The Challenge, will be equipped with their own business cards and web pages to serve advertisers and customers, with the support of a secure online account already in place to receive payments. They’ll receive tips to help them manage during the challenge and to help them learn about the various aspects of starting a business. “Even though there's an incentive to compete”, says Peters, “Everyone still wins”.
If that is not motivation enough, if the collective target of $2 million is raised, a real private island will be bought for the use of the budding barons where membership will be free.
All of that for only $50 joining fee.
What each entrepreneur gets:
- The title of baron on entrepreneurisland.com

- 100 days to either actively sell their advertising pods to merchants or to wait for merchants to come onboard on their own.It depends on how hungry each baron is to succeed!
